It’s Commiecast/ xfinity. They want to bundle my phone from AT&T, and that would take the bill for CATV-Email-Phone to over $300/ mo. I hate to pay that kind of money for those services.
I got CATV-Email in 2007 for $75 when Commiecast first laid cable and connected to the backbone, and it just keeps rising. I have to admit their service is excellent, though.
I pay around $135/mo for 1st tier HD and the slowest internet speed. I have my own equipment, so that helps keep the cost down. About the only time I really notice the slow internet is when I have to do a major OS upgrade. I have the streaming Pluto app on my Tivo box. It is mostly acceptable, but there are latency issues from time to time. I just have a cell phone with 5GB data for $60/mo. If cable or power goes out, I just fire up my laptop and connect it to the phone hotspot.
