Don’t have cable here. Only satellite tv (which serves the same function). Limited stations, all crap, all the time. 3! stations dedicated to the NBA

Local TV is pure communist-controlled crap with very, very poor reception and very poor production values, or South Korean telenovelas (which I can not stand)

I don’t see why they wouldn’t.

Also, if you cancel Comcast altogether I believe you can still keep email. You just can’t log in to manage account settings. This was their policy a few years ago.

Just looking for options.

I haven't owned a TV for almost 22 years so I can't tell you what to watch. I can tell you that sending money to enemies of America needs to be avoided as much as possible. Sending no money to YouTube means they have to monetize you by giving you ads. I get ads for EpochTimes and other conservative organizations before almost every YouTube that I watch. That means YouTube is being paid by them. But not by me. I assume that's better, but I can't be sure.

One option might be a la carte movies from a local theatre. Not sure who you can trust but probably the more local the better. Find one with a website where they let you stream a movie for a fee. I have done a few, but I'm not a movie watcher.

I live in the Netherlands and I have only basic cable to have good internet and watch documentaries mainly.

But over here Fox Sports just became ESPN.

I think via high-speed internet, and the spiraling of the normal networks...a majority of people (doesn’t matter if in Netherlands or Germany) will have subscription-service in the next ten years, and be fairly attached to only certain ‘services’. Thats why I see the Sky options, Netflix, and others as the path ahead. For public TV...it’s a dismal trend.

Same trend to occur with Facebook, Twitter, etc. Once people reach a stage about the privacy of their data, and the amount of propaganda existing...those will lose customers and their stock prices will spiral downward. They will try to structure themselves to be bought, but other than major Chinese brands...no one is big enough to afford either company.

I did this in 2016, I think. It was a while ago. I don’t miss it.

Yeah. My problem. 8 decent-sized screens in a 50 sq. meter house.... 3 alone in my media room... I consume lots of media when not producing my own content (game development, mostly)

Wife and kids loves Netflix and I watch all the sci-fi I can on it, saves on cracking open my sealed Sci-fi blu-rays...

Internet speeds absolute crap. So I’m guessing most of the Netflix content is cached in the Philippines and has high traffic priority.

If you do media production or content creation, having media is a must, unfortunately.

Local movie theater? All shut. And I highly doubt SM cinemas will rent screens (only used to do it for some Christian mass before)

Without basic cable/satellite TV here in the Philippines, it’s down to GMA, TV5 and some communist-run government mouthpiece station. That’s it. Only a matter of time when GMA is shut (Duterte closed ABS-CBN last year because they ran ads against him when he ran for President.

Even basic cable offering have shrunk. HBO, Disney and a few basketball channels. And loads of shopping networks

I’ve never had cable so I’m unable to play this time.

A couple months ago I was being interviewed at a Trump rally by some lamestream media stenographer.

He said “Well, FOX News, who is closely aligned with Donald Trump called the election for Biden. What do you think of that?

I said “I have no idea. I don’t watch FOX News.”

It was so cool to watch this news dork stumbling around after that.

I cut the cord six years ago. It was a little difficult at first because of my lingering affection for a couple shows, but then I saw those shows cave in and become devoted to political correctness.

After six years of isolation, I can see that the shows I liked were pure propaganda. Everything on TV is propaganda, including all your favorite 50s sitcoms. Heartless, vindictive, cruel and evil propaganda. Sometimes over the years a good show or two slipped past the censors, but they were quickly suborned back into the proper agenda.

So. I don’t miss the shows I no longer watch. I don’t miss the braindead inertia that made me watch the silly slush.

Get an antenna and a streaming box like Roku and use the free apps. Zero reason to pay monthly fees for television. And in those cases you will only fund what you want to watch. There are more channels on the antenna alone than used to be on cable, let alone all of things you get with the free streaming apps.

It’s a two-fer package from Commiecast/ xfinity: they are separate, but the customer can’t have one without the other.

Not allowed here. It’s a package or nothing. They have a total monopoly. The only other choice is Dish Satellite, which is still sketchy on bad weather days.

It might be the local government that sets the rules so they can ding you with taxes.
