The problem is that you also then can’t vote in any Republican primaries. Florida is a closed state.

-AND-

// Some of us don’t have the option. Not if we want to be able to primary some of these *uckers.

Not all states allow the ability to vote outside your “party” in the primaries.//

That's true, and an important point for anyone in a CLOSED PRIMARY STATE as FL is to consider. Unfortunately I didn't put it into body of original thread so everyone could see & consider their situation & chosen path. I did address it in my comments: in FL can make change within 29-30 days of election to vote R.

PresbyterianReporter understood: // In the next 20 months you leave the GOP wondering how you will vote. // - - - YEP, BINGO.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This is NOT true in TX, acc wardamneagle in #47

For those in Texas.....

How can I change my party affiliation?

After affiliating with a party by voting in a party’s primary or by taking an oath of affiliation with a party, a voter cannot change their party affiliation during the calendar year. (§162.010)

However, affiliation will automatically expire at the end of the calendar year.

It's important to know what your state regs are.
