Those huge SUV driving soccer moms are in for a rude suprise.
With respect to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while still powering a modern economy:
Electric vehicle do not work.
Renewable energy (wind and solar) does not work. (Look at California!)
Batteries do not work.
If one wants to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while still powering a modern economy, one has to go back to the drawing board!!!!

Yup. We obviously need more projects like the NV Crescent Dunes Solar plant outside of Tonopah. Hey, a billion here a billion there? We’re already in debt over $25 trillion so, meh.

It really depends on how fast high-density batteries become available in the next few years. The upcoming Volkswagen minivan EV based on the ID Buzz concept could become the “soccer mom” EV that could be a very hot seller.

Americans, collectively, look far enough ahead to know when to turn on the TV for their favorite show. They didn’t think about the fact that they were voting for people who will keep their gas-powered cars while they force us all into the exact same remote controlled electric “self driving” car.
It will not be self driving. The Government Central Computer will have ultimate control. It will start with something nice and innocuous, like remotely stopping cars that are being chased by police, and within a year or two, cars will be directed onto routes that the government chooses for you, and will be garaged when the government decides you shouldn’t be driving.
Gen IV reactors should be being built now.
Instead more wind and solar...
An EMP will turn off every electric vehicle. Just sayin’. Keep your old Volkswagen bugs or honda motorcycles

My how things have changed in the last fifty years! Back then we were led to believe THE COMING ICE AGE was the result of air pollution and we had better clean up to prevent it!
Then around 1980 or 81, a science magazine (Maybe Popular Science) said they would no longer use the words “greenhouse effect” as it was no longer true.
Now CO2 pollution has been blamed for Glo-Bull warming.
Ever notice how they create a fear to move us in their direction, just like cattle.
Her is something I found in an old edition of Popular Science.
