2/3rds of the states are Republican. It doesn’t stnd a chance of a snowall.
Jimbo Cooper sponsored it too ... another embarrassment to our state.
There's a whole host of terrifying crap that they will be able to do without effective pushback from the red states.
This, however, isn't one of them.
I believe your right, 20 states max would sign on to this (need 75% of the states, or 38 as of now).
There are 15 states right now that have rat "trifectas" (governor, state house and senate) so those would presumably be the automatics. Toss in another 5 "mixed" state governments to get to the 20. I think it's safe to say...for now, that getting to the 38 is impossible. If they do manage to add 4 new (D) states in the next 2 years, they would need 41 out of 54. Still not happening.
So we appear to be safe from this power grab. Now, of course, this presumes that they will follow the Electoral College rules to begin with.
The communist’s most important wet dream is that, with the electoral college out of the way, 6 or 7 major metropolitan areas will have an unbreakable grip on control of elected offices in the Soviet States of America...
Why not?
The serfs have shown little concern over the events of the past two or three decades as the communists rolled up the Nation...
The serfs now have 10-to-15 generations in which to very, very, very quietly think over where they went wrong and who dropped the ball of freedom...
Yes, he did and yes, he is.
It looks like we’re stuck with them until they die. Too many stupid people in their districts who keep re-electing them.
No, it's much worse than that. See my post above. Congress by simple majority can legislate a uniparty dictatorship, by simply prohibiting any other candidate from running.
No one does. And thats the genius of it!
The GOP didn’t even run anyone against Cooper this year. I sent them an email asking “why?” ... crickets.
Just when we thought a country cannot be more dead. This will rip it to shreds into something from the Mideast or Africa.
NO
I guess they decided it wasn’t worth the effort. With so many dems from ‘blue’ states moving to Nashville and the surrounding area, Republicans are pretty much out-numbered now.
They will be filing bills abolishing the articles of the Constitution bit by bit.
Whereas citizens now have a far better chance of knowing about out-of-State Presidential candidates than about Presidential electors from their home State;
That is a flat out lie. Considering how information is controlled by a cabal of media and their whores what chance does the average voter have of learning the truth about candidates?
It doesn’t take that much effort just to get a candidate on the ballot. You need 25 signatures on a petition. 25! I know 25 Republicans in Nashville just on my own.
If there is to be an armed conflict in the US, just get rid of the the Electoral College.
It doesn’t take much effort to get on a ballot, true.
But getting the financial support is another thing.
And just getting someone willing to go for it to begin with might have been the problem.
It would have been NICE if the GOP had responded to your email. grrrrrrr
Ah, but this is democracy. Democracy is 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Hmmm...
After further consideration, I agree with you...
Well, I hope it works out. This country needs a miracle or a Hail Mary pass.
DOA, 37 States will never ratify. Pure Kabuki.
