“The Republican nominee for president will be that candidate who best learns that there is no future in apologizing,” I wrote in a June 10, 2015, column. Six days later Donald Trump descended the escalator at Trump Tower and, in so doing, launched the most volatile period in American history since the Civil War.
I wish I could say I had Trump in mind when I wrote the above, but as right as my prediction proved to be, I did not even know Trump was running. His refusal to back down or apologize came at a huge personal cost, but the rest of us, including his enemies, benefited from his un-Republican-like willingness to punch back when punched.
The benefits came in two primary forms: what Trump accomplished as president and what he exposed. The last few months, and the last week especially, were all about exposure. We will get to this in a minute, but first a quick brief on Trump’s accomplishment.
No matter how visceral their loathing of Trump, even our leftist friends benefitted from four years of peace and prosperity. So vibrant was the economy in early 2020 that it pushed us through the globalist fear pandemic in relatively good order. Enjoy the fruits of that economy while you can. They won’t last.
As to peace, Trump launched no new wars, nor did he expand any old ones. No president since Jimmy Carter can make this claim, and Carter accomplished his peace through submission. Trump accomplished his through strength: a military rebuilt, North Korea subdued, Russia restrained, China looking over its shoulder, Israel making new friends throughout the region.

The GOP is dead at federal level without Trump voters...
GOP needs new leaders but will not get them..
Time for a MAGA party
Well worth the red. Thanks for posting
The swamp will never allow another Trump in a two party system. The RINO’s and Dems will again unite as before but will stop it.
I am now convinced that we need a third party in the system because of this. It will prevent one party rule forever into existence.
People pushing third party are either stupid, naive, or malicious deceivers.
I used to think that as well. But we are at the dawn of a one party rule forever. I see a third party emerging and coalition governments. Right now it's all partisan votes, no compromise and with the GOP the only party to even bend a little.
President Trump takes a hit for the team. And no one is able to bring him home for the save.
If your “party” dies not have the numbers to win the fight for control of the party from within, it does not have the numbers to beat them from without.
If your new party has the numbers to beat the old party, then it has the numbers to take control of the old party from within.
Again, people pushing third parties are either stupid, naive, or maliscious deceivers.
Don't be silly, The Independence Party beat Bush and it was a fledgling party of about 5% or so of the population.
With all due respect, if you think the GOP party represents conservatives, you're kidding yourself.
Again, people pushing third parties are either stupid, naive, or maliscious deceivers.
People supporting and voting for a political party such as the GOP that openly disenfranchises them have no self respect. Nobody forced the GOP to support the 4 year long bipartisan coup and now bipartisan election steal.
The GOP is institutionally corrupt and has proven the past 4 years they have no interest in reform. Only stupid, naive or malicious porch conservatives would stay on their plantation at this point.
Don’t put words in my mouth.
The Republican Party is MORE conservative than the Democrat party. Dividing the MORE conservative party weakens conservatives and strengthens the left. If the conservative movement is not strong enough to win the fight for who controls the Republican party, then it can not win a fight against both what’s left behind in the Republican party AND the Democrat party.
How can you think the conservative movement is strong enough to fight 2 advesaries, but not strong enough to win the fight for control of the Republican party?
Splitting the Republican party will GUARANTEE one party Democratic control of the country.
AGAIN, people pushing third parties are either stupid, naive, or maliscious decievers.
The batyle for the Republixcn party is fought in the Primaries...
You are advocating delusion.
You need to face reality, the GOP is simply a RINO swamp party. Second, a conservative third party representing at least 1/3 of the population if not more, can strategically create coalitions and combinations and win conservative legislative actions as part of the coalition. They can team up with the GOP, or they can primary the GOP and then the third party candidate will win over the GOP vote, get elected, and slowly change the GOP from the outside.
A group representing 1/3 of the population could easily have majority control of the Republican party...
THAT is simple truth; what you just said makes no sense and spunds like word salad to me.
America First Party
More of a vetting party at first that runs America First candidates in the primaries, if RINO’s win the primary we skip voting for them on the ballot.
No more voting for the lesser of 2 evils. Better to see the knife coming than get stabbed in the back
When you vote like that, you are voting for the worse of two evils by taking votes away from the lesser of two evils, who, at the very least, have to keep up SOME appearances.
People who push third parties are either stupid, naive, or maliscious deceivers.
Think it through and point out where I made a logical error if you believe I am mistaken.
Not sure what you mean “when you vote like that”
I was saying did we really elect these evil people or were their elections fraudulent.
We aren’t always knowingly voting for the lesser of two evils.
Also seems like your answer is to never vote
I meant when you vote 3rd party in the general election you are voting for the worse of two evils, because you are taking a vote away from the lesser of two evils.
If your candidate can’t win the primary, a vote for them in the general benefits the democrats.
My answer is vote in the primaries, and if your candidate loses, vote for the lesser of two evils in the general.
I agree that our fort has been infiltrated with spies. Some suggest the answer is to abandon the fort to the spies and go start a new fort (which presumably will be magically pure and immune from similar infiltration).
I say anyone who pushes that solution is either stupid, naive, or one of the spies.
Turn off the television. Let the fog of despair dissipate. Look around let your eyes see what is happening without an interpretation by Fox News. Here’s what you will see.
1. President Trump firmly ensconced in the Whitehouse.
2. Not one word of concession from the president. (Read his remarks. Really read them.)
3. Military brass quiet as mice.
4. Fully locked and loaded troop movements around the country.
5. 15,000 national guard under the command of Donald Trump pouring into Washington for a virtual inauguration that will have no crowds.
6. A democrat congress and senate losing their minds trying to force Trump out of office when he’s scheduled to leave peacefully in 9 days.
7. Emergency broadcast system being positioned.
I could go on and on. Wake up folks.
