For some people it screws up their sense of spelling. Autocorrect is different. It’s tune-out-able for some reason but this, lose/loose and your/you’re there/their it is people just going around making it up. It messes up the reader’s spelling ability.
I don’t think it is people “making it up”. They just never learned proper English. I would also add they’re to your there/their.
