Some bad things, but also many good things could come out of decentralizing many areas of the web. Eg, google & twitter & FB finally either being split up in anti-Trust actions, and/or seeing the advent of thriving competitors to each of those monopolies.
I agree. Europe will probably start creating their own social media infrastructure as it’s become clear there are no longer any adults in the room in America. If Russia was smart they would try to market their own social networks like VK as a way to get even with Washington.
