Can you say ‘Unions’? How about EOE rules. It’s next to impossible to lose a Fed job - unless you don’t follow the piper. This overpaid/underworked/overentitled idiot will probably be a dept head soon - if this gender neutral noun isn’t one already.

Civil Service rules make it difficult, but not impossible to terminate Federal employees. Federal unions have some collective bargaining power over nonwage compensation, etc., and they can represent workers in disciplinary or termination hearings. That’s about it.
