RE: What is the legal argument of Amazon and others?

FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION. As in, we reserve the right to do business with whoever we wish to.

They signed a contract.

They (Amazon) are claiming a breach of contract for content. The legal basis is what.... obscenity laws?

They can host “pornographic content”, but articles from conservative journalist and parleys by elected leaders and conservatives is “obscene”?

It is easy to be caught up in the hysteria of the moment and cancel culture. Courts are far more antiseptic and the 1st Amendment is the first for a reason.

We have no choice but to let this play out, but Parler will be bigger and better than before and the last week shows the reason we have anti-trust laws. It will be interesting and we will not win them all at each step, but I think the left has overplayed their hand here.

I realize that not all beasts are equally yoked in the US, but it seems there are many cases that address similar concerns. While “freedom” has not won them all at the lower court level, I would argue that most were clear and direct victories for the constitution at the appellate level.

Courts are far more antiseptic than the media hysteria we are now witnessing.

Remember..... “consent of the governed”. America is a difficult nation to govern by design and while we are witnessing extra-constitutional activities, the whole purpose of our courts are to protect it. We have been creeping towards central authority since DC became the capital, but when you look at the “electoral map” who has the more difficult path?

I think the push by the radical left and the lemmings who are following their lead is not going to have the intended result. A “media narrative” does not create or enforce laws. There will be an inevitable backlash.

One thing is for certain, we will find out much about ourselves and our “system” in the coming months and years.
