I use the self-checkout as much as possible at the grocery store, Lowe's, WalMart, etc. It's far faster and I can pack my groceries and other purchases far better than they do.
All of the above accept cash in the self-service checkout machines.
Do they accept cash for things like DoorDash, ClickList (grocery pickup at Kroger), rental cars, hotels or airline tickets? And ordering online must be a pain. Most companies no longer do C.O.D. Sending money home to the Philippines takes 15 seconds with an app and debit card. In a store, wastes 30 minutes or more waiting for customer service to process. And at least at Safeway, couldn’t do it after 5pm.
Maybe a conservative credit card or card processor will be better
Cash transactions are easy to stop. Feds can direct banks to limit cash withdrawals to mere pocket change if one is identified as a MAGA supporters. Probably will be a feature of a new Patriot Act.
