Andrew McCarthy: Trump has committed an impeachable offense
Fox News ^ | Jan 10, 2021 | By Andrew McCarthy | National Review

I took a beating on Twitter Thursday night for making what I thought was a commonsense observation that President Trump should be negotiating favorable terms for resignation "if there are 20 GOP senators who’d vote to impeach."

In our current climate, this was taken as a call for Trump’s impeachment. But it wasn’t a value judgment. It was a mathematical calculation.

As it happens, I do think the president has committed an impeachable offense, making a reckless speech that incited a throng on the mall, which foreseeably included an insurrectionist mob.

These rioters ended up overwhelming security forces and storming the Capitol. They shut down a solemn constitutional proceeding, endangering the lives of the vice president and the people’s representatives. They ripped through the facility, causing not only significant property damage but grave injuries.

Did Andrew ever finish his public service picking up trash along the freeways for raping that boy?

This is ridiculous! The facts don't matter. If Pelosi pushes impeachment through the House, it will be the same universal false narrative promulgated by the MSM and BigTech for the last five days. And don't expect any more bravery from GOP than we saw Wednesday night.

If there are 20 GOP who will vote to impeach, I want to know their names. How does that sound, Andrew M?

So are the politicians who supported Antifa, including Kamala, going to be held accountable?

William Buckley is spinning in his grave.
When he founded the NR, it was conservative. Now, they tell you that they are conservative but fall in with the left wing socialist dogma.
I particularly liked reading Buckley’s column because it expanded my vocabulary as well as my conservative views.
Always armed with a dictionary, I enjoyed the content of NR.
Now, I don’t even speak its name.

Andrew McCarthy? A poorer excuse can’t be found.

I don’t recall Trump commanding anyone to enter the Congress and tear things up. Prove me wrong. Trump is still a citizen and is protected by the First Amendment.

Peacefully and patriotically making your voice heard is incitement?

Does McCarthy really love Washington so much that he’s going to spew this garbage?

No! Make these cowards vote. Force them to vote for impeachment. The 75 million Trump supporters want to know their names so they can vote them out.

That leaves matters up to the GOP leader, Senator Mitch McConnell. He no doubt has genuine concerns about the potential for more destructive behavior by the president — after the last two months, who doesn’t?

Oh, Andy, Andy, Andy. I tried.

Andy's a conservative, at least on the surface, so I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. The stuff about political offenses -- which I don't think Trump actually met in his speech -- was interesting. I planned to share the article on social media after I read it, simply as an interesting point of view, not something I agreed with.

The article was proving to be interesting, but then he went and wrote that crap that I put in Italics at the top. So contesting an election that, at least on the surface, appears riddled with fraud, is destructive behavior? What in the world is wrong with him?

Don't get me wrong, I think our otherwise good President can be erratic and seem quite temperamental at times, but he is seriously without blame in these last two months, on this issue!

I simply could not read any further.

PING!

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt here. Reasonable people can reach different conclusions.

But then he went and implied that Trump’s general contesting of this election — you know, Joseph Stealin — was reckless behavior???

DAMN!!!

McCarthy really thinks Mueller ran a good show, when his final testimony before Congress appeared to indicate that his time could have been better spent in a porch rocker with his grandkids???

DAMN!!!
