The mayor of Portland Ted Wheeler was punched in the face on Wednesday night as frustrations over how he has responded to recent crises in the city boiled over.
Wheeler was dining outdoors with a companion when the protesters walked up to him and began shouting obscenities at the Democratic mayor.
Portland made national news when riots hit the city for more than 100 nights in a row last summer as Black Lives Matter protesters clashed with police in response to the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis last May.
What began with calls to defund the police and reinvest in communities spiraled into anti-government demonstrations, including calls for Wheeler's resignation.
The video shows Wheeler dining at Café Nell's in Northwest Portland when he is approached by a group of protesters.

A person off-camera can then be heard yelling at the mayor who remains calm throughout the video addressing him by his middle name Tevis.
Wheeler asks the person yelling at him how old he is before telling him he needs to grow up.
'You are going to be made to feel like the scum you are,' the protester says in the video. 'F*** you! F*** you! Shame on you!'
'I think you need to do your job as a f***ing mayor. I think you're a disgrace,' he replies after Wheeler says that he thinks the group should leave. 'How dare you do sweeps when people are still on the streets.'
'You think that we're going to forget about you? We're never going to forget you, Tevis. Ever. Ever. I hope you enjoyed your little wine... you're f*****, Tevis.'

My nephew on FB complained about the fact that rubber bullets weren’t being used against white nationalists the way they were used against BLM and antifa protestors at the January 6th protests....I told him that the kinetic action he so desired against Trump supporters had occurred and a young woman was killed because of it. He told me “kindly shut up!” He ordered(!!) me to retract my post or else “he would block me!” I told him I would save him the trouble and I immediately unfriended him. The little twerp sure outed himself with me as a little fascist dictator in the making. His dad tells me he always raises the boy’s rent when his “little Lord Fauntleroy” tries to get uppity with him and tries telling his dad to shut up.
I told my wife last night that this may end up being fun to watch. Grab the popcorn.
You can’t make these people happy — you just can’t. And once they’re purged conservatives from social media, and they have congress and the White House, the radical Left will definitely turn on their own. They have no one else to blame for their constant misery.
We should remember this as the *first* example of the extreme left being intolerant of Democrat leftists and even socialists who are not extreme enough.
If it catches on, extreme leftists may soon adopt assassination of those Democrats who are not radical enough.
Remember that rabid extremist Muslims kill far more Muslims than anyone else. The same rule applies to the extreme left.
And this goes all the way to the top. The Secret Service will likely have its hands full fending off leftists from attacking Biden and Harris. Democrat senators and representatives are also at risk.

The gov cracks down on conservatives because as a rule, we don’t beat the daylights out of people we disagree with. They aren’t afraid of us, whereas they know revolutionary commies absolutely will beat you to death in the street if you anger them.

I would tend to agree, but I’m not so sure anymore. I am certain they’re not afraid of us.
Honestly, the Right won’t do anything until absolutely pushed to the brink, and they know that. Even then, our response would probably be measured. That’s who we are, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Just look at the capitol “incident.” We all know most of the bad actors were Antifa and BLM, while there are pics of Trump supporters walking past velvet ropes, as if they’re on a guided tour with the capitol police. Or the Trump supporters who just kicked off an airplane — they left without incident.
The Left is full of a bunch of unhappy children, throwing a tantrum, and they are terrified of them. They know if they crack down on them it’ll get worse, whereas the Right essentially goes home when told — even after everything that’s happened.
Again, that doesn’t really upset me. In a way it makes me proud, because I know we won’t raise a hand in anger until we absolutely have to.
Where do we go from here? I don’t know, but I’m grabbing the popcorn because I really believe the Left is about to turn on itself.

What are the chances this little altercation was staged to garner sympathy for the mayor?
1. Dining in public.
2. Looney yells at him.
3. Mayor calmy sasses back.
4. Looney pops him. Altercation ends.
5. Mayor does not file charges.
For being anti-establishment, SJWs sure draw light to zero punishment from the establishment. Even after an assault and battery incident.
If democrats had done their jobs better with controlling the more violent and destructive antifa/BLM riots, we probably wouldn’t be here. Democrat politicians for months, let them fire bomb, riot, loot, and murder. Then let most of them out of jail. Some of them even paid their bail.

George Floyd was not "killed". George Floyd, a violent career criminal, died of a self inflicted fentanyl overdose.
I think you’re onto something here. The demands of the SJW mob are so high and all encompassing that there is no real way to satisfy them. And if the SJW’s do start attacking the establishment Dems the left may actually have an “epiphany” on law enforcement. For a little while at least. My money is on the left overplaying its hand like they always do. Just the same, BLOAT.
