A group of House Republicans who voted to accept President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory asked him to persuade Speaker Nancy Pelosi to back off impeaching Donald Trump for instigating Wednesday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The lawmakers, led by Representative Ken Buck of Colorado, warned in a letter to Biden on Saturday that Trump’s impeachment would inflame his supporters anew, and damage Biden’s efforts to unify the country.
“In the spirit of healing and fidelity to our Constitution, we ask that you formally request that Speaker Nancy Pelosi discontinue her efforts to impeach President Donald J. Trump a second time,” the wrote.
Pelosi has threatened to allow impeachment proceedings to begin, perhaps as soon as Monday, unless Trump resigns following the insurrection at the Capitol. Many members of Congress in both parties have blamed Trump for the violence after he summoned supporters to Washington to protest while Congress counted Electoral College votes, and then urged them to march on the Capitol in a defiant speech on Wednesday morning.
Five people died in the violence that ensued after Trump’s supporters stormed into the building, including a Capitol Police officer.
‘Great Deliberation’
But the Republican House members said that “a presidential impeachment should not occur in the heat of the moment, but rather after great deliberation.”
They added that impeachment “would undermine your priority of unifying Americans, and would be a further distraction to our nation at a time when millions of our fellow citizens are hurting because of the pandemic and the economic fallout.”
Biden said in a news conference on Friday that it was up to Congress to decide whether to impeach Trump, but that the fastest way to remove the president would be his own inauguration on Jan. 20.

I HATE THESE PEOPLE, I pray our side keeps a cool head the last thing Trump needs is some kind of McVeigh incident there are some really PISSED OFF people out there and the Dems are really pushing it!! NOW censoring and cancelling conservatives, people are reaching a boiling point if they impeach him I am afraid someone will boil over!!!
It’s obvious Pelosi suffers from some mental condition. She wouldn’t be happy if President Trump left yesterday.

House republicans. That’s what we get for electing these fools. They assist the Demonic party to gain full control of the government, and then are stupid enough to ask for something. The democrats must have laughed in their faces.
They need 2/3 vote in the senate they DONT HAVE IT!!!
They haven’t even taken control, and yet they are taking control. Look at how other communist regimes in history have quickly “transformed” their governments to get an idea of how the democrats will proceed. Republicans who aren’t on board will be subjected to “gentle persuasion” from the justice department.
That is the one thing this forum needs. I see so many comments I would love to support, but it can only be done in comments. And the comment doesn’t show the support it received.
But the process in the Senate will not be able to be completed because of time constraints.
Trump will already be out of office if he leaves on the 20th. The Senate can't get their act together quick enough to convict or not convict by that time.
This is all for show by Nancy Pelosi who loathes Trump.
Bunch of morons are so far behind the curve. By the time they figure it out it will be too late for everyone.
President Trump’s impeachable offence is/was being elected. He interrupted their progress toward progressivism. MOST important, he interrupted their access to all of the trillions of dollars. Never forget what a San Francisco democRAT stated “if we don’t win, we don’t eat.” The idea of getting a real job, going to work every day, actually producing something, is anathema to these creepozoids.
Don’t ever forget it is the Torch Bearer that gets removed first.
