If my denomination does this I am out.
I had to reconcile this decades ago. Denominations are "Traditions of men." Each denomination has some sort of "creed" or "statement of faith". Our creed and statement of faith should be the Word of God, no some man made plaque on the wall. The Baptist church is the church at Ephesus in Revelation. They forgot their first love. Thyatira is the RCC and contains the Whore of Babylon. Laodicea covers most other middle of the road churches, but why does Jesus feel the need to categorize these different groups? God wants us to read the Bible and follow it. Most don't even admit that Saturday is the 7th day Sabbath and follow it. Look at your denomination and compare it to the Messianic Jewish movement. IMO they follow Scripture as closely as God commanded them. Following a denomination just says I have my own beliefs even to the detriment of following God's Word. Just as the RCC had Lutherans break off, the others broke off for various reason and almost none follow what the Bible says. The RCC calls itself the Mother Church, but they worship statues, icons, dead people, and have non Biblical teachings an a myriad of subjects as the Babylonian religion did at Nimrod's time. If you are a Baptist or a Methodist, et al, someone broke off of the RCC at some point, but they kept Easter and Christmas and Sunday worship anyway. The pope even says the Protestants still belong to the mother church because they follow Sunday worship directly against God's 4th Commandment. The reason Jesus was so angry at the Pharisees was because they changed God's Word with "Halakha", or Traditions of Men.
A Baptist will have to examine themselves to see if they re following the teachings of the Baptist church or Jesus, just as a RCC will have to examine what they are following, The RCC or Jesus. When you have the Bible telling you it's doctrines of demons to forbid marriage or to bring a tree into your house to decorate or celebrate Tammuz (born on Dec 25 or the winters solstice).
As we see today about half the denominations have sided with gay marriage and abortion for example, how long is it before whatever denomination you follow says you must follow evil or take a man's "mark" or worship another god? Disagreements in these areas are why the church is getting smaller and atheists are growing. If 84% say they are Christians, how does 60% agree with abortion and even more agree with sodomy? Someone is lying. IMO, sodomy will soon be embraced by the pope. What will a Catholic do then? You've already accepted worshiping idols and making graven images and changed the Sabbath to the wrong day. Will they listen to "Love Trumps Hate" chants in their church? Just a reminder to those that don't read God's Word, God killed everyone in 5 cities in the Valley of Sodom to show His opinion of Sodomy. What will a Baptist say when their denomination accepts the evil of Biden and the Democrats?
