Understand what you are saying, when you go to YouTube he destroys them when he promotes all the other sites he’s on while at the same time taking a big dump on youtube the entire time.

88.6 million followers

That’s a big loss of traffic for Twitter. Soon they will run out of people worth following.........

Twitter is not a profitable company. Your nearest pizzeria or nail salon delivers more earnings per share to its owners than Twitter. Twitter only attracts investors because it is a “growth” company. If Twitter gets one half of the treatment Fox News rightly received after the election it will disappear.

Deactivated my Twitter. In the process of sending Facebook to the trash heap, too. I’m done with them, but if they think it will silence my voice, they couldn’t be more wrong.

Does anyone know or can explain what will happen to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram when hundreds of thousands or millions of users decouple themselves from I?

How will any financial loss occur (re the process of losing users)?

Will corporate sponsors of these three leftist sites and other sponsors (if they have ads on them), incur financial losses, if any?

.

WE NEED A GENERAL QUITTING BOYCOTTING OF THESE COMMIE TYPES

Yes, that even means PARENTS removing all access for their children.

Lets make sure that Facebook/twitter/etc have effectively committed suicide.

By BOYCOTT that includes telling all companies if THEY use these censor nazi colluders (and aideres and abettors to treason), then WE wont be their customers any more.

I’ve been a loyal Rush listener for 30 years. Let me tell you, I’ve never been more thankful to hear Rush’s voice than the past 2 days. Especially considering what he is going through. As I type this I’m getting pretty emotional. Not much else to say....

Amen to that. Rush has been like a longtime close friend... first discovered him in March 1991. I am so dreading the inevitable day we lose him.

DAMN, I really thought he would be with us for another 20+ years. :-(

I dumped twitter two years ago. FB is next. I have two private groups on FB (one church members) and the other is a Baseball Group...Both places politics are not mentioned once. I detest what FB has done and even though I love my two groups, I’m just going to have to delete.

This link has a whole bunch of stats on Twitter: https://www.omnicoreagency.com/twitter-statistics/

I'll use this for my analysis/thoughts on your question.

First;

340 million total users

262 million International Twitter users

78 million domestic users

42% or 142 million daily users.

If you divide just the active daily users, 142 million, by the yearly earnings or 1.6 billion, you get $11.26.

That makes individual participation worth $11.26 per year.

Now, that sounds high to me, as an estimate. Add in business expenses and your probably looking at more like $5 per active user per year.

It's hard to say how many users the site will lose. Maybe 20 million?

If that was the case, they would see a loss of about 100 million a year, or a 6% drop in revenue.

That's not really that bad, but I'm just ball parking it. The problem is, there is a difference between unsubscribing, and breaking the habit. If people cancel their accounts, but still go to the site for information a browser, they are still generating Ad revenue, since the amount they can charge for Ad placement is based on site traffic and clicks.

Its not enough to cancel, you must form new habits.

The people that will see the losses overall are the shareholders. You, me, anyone invested through a 401K, or a mutual fund that has tech stocks as part of its portfolio.

The real damage is to the brand though. No one will want to create on a site where all their effort can b destroyed at the whim of another. Especially when what is socially acceptable can change in the course of a year, or five years. As said above, the Internet never forgets. You could literally lose your source of income having fallen on the wrong side of what is acceptable as an afterthought.

This will be the year of changing habits and voting with your dollars.

Some recommendations:

Compile a list of all the sites you have login access to.

Pay for your email service with a German or Swiss based email company. I recommend Posteo, Tutanota or Proton mail. It will cost about 1 euro a month.

Get a PayPal account. You can pay Posteo with no record of who (you) is paying for the account. Don't use your real name for the account.

Go to all of your login sites and change the password (each unique) and email address.

Dump your domestic, free, data gathering email. Archive all your old emails locally, and delete the account.

Now is the part where you're going to cock your head.

Russia is your friend. Yes, your heard me right, Russia is your friend.

Did you know there is an entirely parallel universe of Russian services that are the same damn thing as Facebook, Google, Twitter, and YouTube?

You might be asking why Russia? Well, Russian companies generally are direct competitors with, or simply hate US tech companies. They are loath to share information with likes of google or Facebook. Likewise, the US user base is so minuscule, it wouldn't be worth it for US tech companies to get any data gathered from US search engines. I'll get to that later.

Always have a dirty backup email. this is the email you give out to get into sites one time, or you just need to provide an email for whatever reason, but you aren't really doing any business. The other reason is to have a place that a recover password can be sent without giving out your phone number. (Note that with a Posteo mail account, if you give your phone number to them, it gets encrypted and all they can see on their end is a hash, so they couldn't tell anyone what it is if they wanted to)

The only place I've found to set up an email without providing true personally identifying info (usually it's a phone number), is mail.ru. I'm sure there are other places, but I didn't need to look any further.

So what about your search engine. Yandex is my go to. The company is older than Google, and is a direct competitor. I chose DuckDuckGo as a secondary when Yandex falls down, but I don't like that DDG still uses Google to search, but “without” revealing who you are. I don't believe that for a second. I know, though, that Yandex isn't sharing with Google as they are mortal enemies.

What about social media. You'd have to convince your friends, but VKontakte is basically Facebook in Russia. Pretty much the same functionality with the addition of streaming services.

Most will probably just be better off with the domestic alternatives like Rumble, gab, and Parler, though.

Now the big step. Dump Amazon. But, but, muh stuff shipped. Uh-huh. My attitude is, Amazon is a good tool to research brands, and find sellers. Most box stores can get the same product, and I like to support the little guy where possible.

round this all out with a vpn from Nord (based in Panama) and run the Tor browser, then you are good to go.

I thin I might have gone off on a tangent. Hope I answered your question.

Well it didn’t stop Fox from continuing so I doubt these social networks will care either.

Give it a little time and we’ll be seeing a lot more options......maybe Trump and some investors will provide a great alternative for social networks, tv and others?
