Dems may not need voters. But GOP needs them. GOP has the short end of stick. They are supposed to play a controlled opposition with decent share of votes. If their base abandon them, they can't even play the role. The void will be filled by the left or another conservative party. In the former case, there will be open warfare between Pelosi/Schumer wing and AOC/Bernie wing.
