People are wondering “Why bother? There are only 13 days left.”

I’d say there are several reasons:

1. They are definitely afraid that Trump is going to declassify documents, and possibly release the DNI and Durham reports in full before leaving.

2. They want to cripple Trump’s chances at a run in 2024. Technically an impeachment doesn’t preclude Trump from running, but it won’t be good.

3. I honestly think the main reason is to break the spirit and backs of Trump supporters; to send a message that “this is what we will do to you too, if we want to.”

Having said this, they won’t get 67 votes in the Senate.
