Former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer said he wants to give police "the benefit of the doubt" and hopes they were attempting to de-escalate Wednesday's event when they appeared to let pro-Trump rioters inside the legislative building.
"Sometimes when you don't have enough personnel, you can't stand and fight a large crowd like that," he said on NBC's "Today" show Thursday, noting that there were not enough law enforcement personnel on scene.

they were asked multiple times by federal authroities if they needed more law enforcement
they turned them all down
so they wanted this to occur

I doubt those few dozen creepy antifa-looking ones that got in (climbed the wall/portico/whatever) didn’t look like they would face down guns to push through.
The 250000 Protesters (outside) was there ANY sign they were armed ?
There were heavily armed/armored police out side with teh milling quarter million REAL Trump Supporters.

I saw video of the police actively fighting with the protesters, the exact opposite of what many are saying. If the police “let” the protesters in, it was not out of kindness or part of a conspiracy to invite the occupation, but that they were outnumbered and overwhelmed, and their only alternatives would be to fill the area with so much tear gas that they themselves would also be disabled, or start shooting.
Charge those officials waving them in.
My local newspaper also used the expression “mob” (specifically, “pro-Trump mob”) in it’s giant headline. I doubt they’ve used the word “mob” to describe a left-wing protest in the last 20 years.
Capitol Police was taking SELFIES with the protestors that came inside..this was all a set up there was NO fear from those officers they were not afraid of these protestors

IMHO they were deluded by their own defund the police fantasies. They’re used to Trump supporters being noisy but peaceful. They were more worried about avoiding police confrontations with Antifa and BLM counter-protesters.
All these factors contributed to the weak police presence.
It also appears that the Capitol has surprisingly weak physical barriers.
Letting them in was all part of the plan (by Obama?). It certainly appears to be working.

Why was the “policeman” firing the gun dressed in a suit? Was he a plant, put there to do just what he did? That would discredit the protest very quickly. I think it was planned.
