I hear what you are saying BUT facebook is flat out enemy territory and will get significantly worse, and very fast after Trump is out.
supply and demand — if there is enough demand i.e. millions of former facebookers looking for a new home, then a supply will come—very likely after Trump is free to give his endorsement.
my twitter account is deactivated a while back. Would i join an alternate site if Trump jumped on board, and it was easy to use? you bet—and so would millions of others, and very fast.
twitter will then turn into nothing more then a liberal dribble platform that offers nothing. it’ll be the social media Moveon or DU. They’ll eventually eat their own and become irrelevant and obsolete as time and technology changes.

As Facebook is free social media in most in the world (no phone load required) to use.
They refuse to move even to WhatsApp or Viber.
SMS is $0.40 a message to/ from the US to the Philippines.

well if I was a democrat I would FORCE you to get off of facebook but it is a free country (well, maybe not anymore) and the choice is yours based on your circumstances.
I would however, avoid going on to facebook completely, dont post, dont read other peoples posts if possible, and just connect with your family through Messenger.
make your profile as blank as possible. basically just use the messaging platform for your needs.
