I like Kurt's work also, however this is a very rare example of his offerings where he explains the reference to his personal multimedia saturation.

"There’s this funny outtake of The Office where they elaborately prank Dwight to think he is in the Matrix, and they offer him the blue pill that sends him back into the false reality or the red pill that opens his eyes.
He asks for the blue pill. And that’s what so many of the losers who are our fellow citizens want, desperately. They yearn for a blue pill to make the reality go away.

I don't know what the "Office" is and I've never seen "The Matrix", and I have no desire to.

Red Pill: Unpleasant reality

Blue Pill: Blissful illusion

Facebook and Twitter are dispersing blue pills by the truck load.

“The Office” was a comedy show on TV. I never quite got the humor because more than half the stuff going on I had seen in reality for myself and it was distinctly NOT funny.

“Matrix” was a cool sci-fi movie series that started very strong but ended up very dark and stupid. There was an iconic scene where the main character was offered 2 choices, red pill or blue pill. Red pill meant you would see life as it really in truth existed, with all its ugliness. Blue pill meant you get to continue on with the facade.
