Maybe. Maybe not. One thing is for certain, though. If we do nothing, we’re snapping the locks closed on our own shackles. I’m pretty claustrophobic, so I’d do pretty much anything to keep my freedom.

Yet you, like the rest of us, would do far more to protect that which we've amassed over the years. The home, the cars, the toys, the ability to keep the spouse in climate control and clothes on the kids back, and hopefully still have enough $$$ left over to buy the booze we'll drink while watching the "Big Game" on that new flat screen TV. That stuff is all far more important than actual freedom, so, peaceful slavery it is!
