There is no punishment, and only $100’s of millions to be bribed with, when you get to a level in government, where you cannot be arrested, and the rest of the Legislative Branch will not impeach you.
When moral and material corruption is strategically institutionalized, including the highest levels of law enforcement, there is literally no controlling authority, or no controlling legal authority.
By default, when this happens, those who can and do break the law with impunity, ascend over all laws, becoming the new my orally corrupted law.
They become dictators, and will not allow any challengers.
Allowing the lawless to ascend above the law, is arguably the more traitorous, and truly the more treasonous.
