Yes. Hopefully many here at FR will wake up to the reality that LE is the enemy, and stop all this mindless worship of them. They are basically thuggish mercenaries, selling their services to the highest bidder. They are scum.
My FRiends here need to stop painting all cops with the same brush. Military as well. There are liberal cops and conservative cops. Both professions tend to lean conservative, but a concerted effort at infiltration has been made by the leftists.
An Uber driver recently called the cops on me because I lowered my mask to drink my coffee (long story). The cop was friendly and deferential, and went out of his way to resolve things amicably. Granted this is Fairfield County CT and the police chief of this particular town is a friend, but you get the idea.
It’s a long road back and I hope to live to see it.
LE becomes the enemy when they put their pensions ahead of their sworn duty. And, yes, there are quite a number of those who fall into that category.
But there are also a hell of a lot who do not, and who take seriously their oaths and really do try to make a difference.
So lumping them all into one basket is not only unfair but silly.
There may very well come a time when a cop saves your ass, or that of a loved one; and I want to see you call that cop “scum” to his or her face.
There are different types of LEOs. Local Sheriffs who are elected by the people tend to be guardians of the constitution. But city cops who are employees of Democrat run Cities answer specifically to Democrat bureaucrats are minions of the police state. DC police are the perfect example of that. Do not assume they are on your side, the Constitution means nothing to them. DO NOT TRUST THEM!
At a city level, I agree with you. Not at a town level.
