A World Health Organization (WHO) team due to investigate the origins of Covid-19 in the city of Wuhan has been denied entry to China.
Two members were already en route, with the WHO saying the problem was a lack of visa clearances.
However, China has challenged this, saying details of the visit, including dates, were still being arranged.
The long-awaited probe was agreed upon by Beijing after many months of negotiations with the WHO.
WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was "very disappointed" that China had not yet finalised the permissions for the team's arrivals "given that two members had already begun their journeys and others were not able to travel at the last minute".
The WHO has been working to send a 10-person team of international experts to China for months with the aim of probing the animal origin of the pandemic and exactly how the virus first crossed over to humans.
Last month it was announced that the investigation would begin in January 2021.

China the source of the outbreak of covid-19 :
China prosecuted and persecuted the doctors who discovered and diagnosed the disease.
Then China, through its various international partners, bought up all the infectious disease control clothing, masks, PPE's, gloves, etc.,
while claiming covid was non-infectious. They cornered the market on protection !
China destroyed all the doctors early covid medical records,
Then China allowed international travel from the infection source while quarantining Wuhan from the rest of China, thus attempting to limit th exposure.
Then the WHO initially said that there was no human-to-human infection, based on Chinese govt. statements; later it was determined that this data was false.
Then China wouldn't even let WHO infectious disease specialists into the country, as the infection raged within their nation,
and now, even one year after the pandemic, China still refuses the WHO infectious disease specialists entry.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world wants to play nice with China trade, especially the European Union.
At least now we know who are friends are !
Pretty obvious they are hiding the origin of the virus, their lab. WHO says, all they want to know is when the “bat virus” crossed over to human. China is blocking because it did not come from an animal, it came from the lab.
Interesting: this is the same tactic the DemonicRats used to keep Republicans from looking at the voting machines.
