This link leads to a CDC spreadsheet that contains weekly death data for 2019 and 2020. It can be downloaded:

https://data.cdc.gov/NCHS/Weekly-Counts-of-Deaths-by-State-and-Select-Causes/muzy-jte6

Opening it with Excel and summing columns, the 2019 “All Causes” total is 2,852,000, which agrees with this post. The CDC 2020 data lacks week 52, with week 51 obviously incomplete (and possibly a few earlier weeks). The current 2020 total is 3,128,000, which is greater than this post’s total of 2,902,000. It could possibly increase by 100,000 once the last several weeks have complete data to possibly 3,228,000 deaths. So, the 2020 increase when compared to 2019 might be as high as 376,000. This is close to the number of COVID deaths.

Anything wrong with my calculations?
