We don’t have science any more. We have scientism.

I tried identifying as super wealthy but nothing appeared in my bank account. I am set up for automatic deposit so I don’t know what could have gone wrong.

Some people really should NOT be allowed to name children, either their own or anyone else’s. If your surname is Butz don’t name your son Seymour. If your surname is Blow don’t have children or just change your surname to Jones.

“Marion” is a masculine name in France.”

Of course it is, Francis Marion university is named after the revolutionary war hero who inspired the movie titled “The Patriot” starring Mel Gibson. He was known as the “Swamp Fox” and according to the legend was a super masculine type even though his name may strike most ears as sounding like a girl.

Francis Marion was one of the subjects of the biographies-for-children series that I devoured when I first learned to read, in the early 70s.

Kaslin claimed, "You can not give in Germany a girls name to a boy, or a boys name to a girl."

I pointed out the famous exception ("Maria" as a middle name - what the Germans call the "zweiter Vorname").

You respond by pointing out that, in French, "Marion" is a masculine name.

I fail to see the relevance.

Regards,

The relevance is that the perception of names as “masculine” or “feminine” is different in different countries, just as you pointed out regarding “Maria” in Germany. I was elaborating upon what I perceived you to be conveying.

I’m sorry I did not make the (very minor) point more clearly. Best wishes.
