I was born and raised in SE LA county.
My last address was Paramount CA, just across the LA river from Compton. Y’all watch the movie “Live and die in LA”
minus the rich part of town. scenes, that is where I and my wife of 44 years grew up.
We escaped CA in 1979. To many WHITE liberals were moving in and making the place look like a Monkey Effing a football.
It looks even worse today.
Full disclosure; Spanish and Mandarin are my second and third languages, please speak SLOWLY so this white trash boy can understand you.
Aloha.
La Mirada boy here. When I was 16, I had a close encounter in Paramount. My buddy and I were riding back home on my motorcycle down Rosecrans when a low rider full of Mexicans cut us off. Being stupid, I flipped them off.
They slowed down, gesturing for us to catch up with them. Being smart, I also slowed down.
Then came the red light.
They stopped behind a line of cars, and exited the car — all six of them. Being terrified, I gunned it.
We flew through the midst of the gang, who gave us clear passage. I continued accelerating, riding the line between the cars waiting for the light, which changed to green just as we arrived at the intersection. I didn’t even slow down.
A couple blocks up, I veered off into a residential neighborhood, where a car could never keep up with a motorcycle.
That was the day I learned not to engage emotionally with
other drivers.
BTW, also born and raised in SoCal. Moved to AZ in ‘81.
