They at best represent a third of the country. FR type people represent a third for normal conservative values. Then there is the soft middle. Kinda like the division in 1776. Getting close to picking sides again.
Remember all security begins locally. The people you know and grew up with. Get the local government on board if possible. Create a local militia that works with the local LEOs. Get any vets to set you up with a military organization. There are a lot of functions that can be done that are non-militia like such as EM personnel, Fire personnel, Volunteer work. Like the reserves meet one weekend a month to practice tactical operations. Reach out and work with other regional militias to coordinate operations. I am sure that they’re others that have more to add.
