Hijacking accounts of every type is the most common type of criminal activity on the internet. If you are not savvy on how this is done... hackers sell hijacked accounts of every kind. So you are not completely out of luck. FreeRepublic has not been immune from this type of activity but the moderators typically catch up with people like this after a short period of time.
There are many people who call themselves Kevmo on the internet. The one who posted here up until 2014 about cold fusion and alternative energy was active and a nuisance on many sites at the same time so we can conclude that this is the same person, although he had to do some jiggering of accounts to keep posting. He was no stranger to being banned or zotted:

From this statement I concede that there is a good chance that you are the same person... since that is exactly what you have been doing since you were reinstated here. So it is possible that an apology from me is in order?
