CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico - Dozens of Cubans protested at the U.S. border in the northern Mexican city of Ciudad Juarez on Tuesday night, demanding they be allowed to cross and claim asylum in the United States.
U.S. authorities, including police in anti-riot gear, closed off the bridge that leads into El Paso, Texas, with a concrete barrier topped with barbed wire.
A recording blared from a loudspeaker warning that any person who crossed could be arrested.
Late into the evening, some 200 migrants who had walked right up to the barrier stayed put.
Jonathan Castro, 25, said he has spent one year and eight months in Mexico after attempting to request asylum in the United States, and is prepared to protest at the bridge throughout the night.
Like many other Cubans, he was sent back across the border under the “Remain in Mexico” program - a key piece of U.S. President Donald Trump’s hardline policy to curb migration by making asylum seekers wait out their proceedings in Mexico.
“We’re fed up waiting,” he said, adding that the group had formed at the border after word circulated that U.S. authorities were prepared to let them cross.

And, so, it begins again.
These ain’t boat people.
Given Cuba’s iron fist control of it’s population, only people who Cuba wants to be at the border are allowed to make it to the border.
They are most likely Cuban infiltration agents and that’s reason enough to keep them out.
They would cross illegally somewhere along that border then make a beeline to the customs office then fly off to friends or relatives in Florida...
Apparently it was easier to cross in Texas than by boat or swimming to Fla directly from Cuba......LOL!
Yeppers and will be in earnest real soon if Trump not re-elected, bet.
Good point.
“We’re fed up waiting,”
Actually, if nothing happens to prevent Biden-Harris from taking power, I’m pretty sure we won’t see the open borders policies enacted that we’ve previously anticipated. If anything, border restrictions might become quietly stronger. The level of 2020 election rigging has changed the formula.
This is because the Democrats’ motivation to encourage illegal immigration has always been to expand their voting base. If, however, the Supreme Court continues its current trajectory, then they will be essentially endorsing the ability of states to ignore, violate and arbitrarily change their election laws. That removes the need for swelling the ranks. If you can manufacture votes, then you don’t actually need voters.
Tied to that would be the fact that the more disenchanted/angry impoverished people you attract or create, to whom you’ve made promises you cannot keep, the greater the likelihood of violent revolution.
I thought another reason for illegals was cheap labor for the elites. (Gardeners, nannys, etc)
