I dunno. They are making this guy sound like he was incapable of pulling off the bombing they are attributing to him. It raises more questions than answers, IMO.
Lonely-but-smart older man who did okay but was finding his life empty, decides to go out in a relatively bloodless and unique bombing? I can see that. ...But who was also an alien-conspiracy diariest who was on the lookout for “lizard people”? Not so much.
Crazy isn’t the same thing as stupid. The Unabomber was batshit crazy, but extremely competent. Crazy people often have unparalleled ability to concentrate, but they focus on their delusional construct of reality. That’s what makes them dangerous.
