In an effort to compete with the Democrat-approved bill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell introduced his own bill to provide $2,000 stimulus checks.
McConnell proposed the new bill on Tuesday, shortly after he rejected a request for unanimous consent on the House’s bill.
Unlike the Democrat approved bill, however, McConnell’s version would repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
Additionally, it would set up a commission to study voter fraud. This came after Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vt.) vowed to delay a vote to override President Trump’s veto of the NDAA until the Senate votes on the stimulus payments.
McConnell’s bill could provide a work-around to that filibuster.

Turtle is trying to save his butt....shell
He thinks we’re stupid. The whole GOP thinks we are stupid.
He thinks we’re stupid. The whole GOP thinks we are stupid.

Well....its worked for them for a long time.
Republican voters are not very discriminating and tolerate relentless backstabbing. Just saying.
To hell with this voter fraud in bill!
Study it NOW!
Study it 24/7 until THIS ELECTION IS REDONE.
OUTLAW MAIL IN VOTING. NON CITIZEN VOTING AND DO IT WITH PAPER BALLOTS NOW!!!!
Lots of Senate Rs are afraid they’ll be hurt by tech’s 230 protection.
Lots of Senate Rs are afraid they’ll be hurt by Trump Voters if they don’t do something for the President.
Mitch has offered a good stew for them!
A few Dems, like Sanders even, may be tempted- Sanders doesn’t need the Techs and has experienced crooked electoral process.
Not holding my breath, but neither am I dumping on Mitch for this.
Agreed!!!
I can't tell the future but based upon the history of the Republican electorate I have no problem with your statement.
Your explanation is very helpful. Thanks for the breakdown.
Lots of moving parts.
Which he knows has ZERO chance of passing(Because it gets rid of Section 230 and puts in a commission on voter fraud, of course Dems dont want a freakin commission on voter fraud!) so McConnell can use this bill failing as a reason to not even bother with the 2K
He absolutely knows that none of this will pass. He is sickening.
Mitch is becoming afraid that a new MAGA party is forming.
They THINK we are stupid BECAUSE we have been stupid!} FR decades we have held our noses and voted for these ASSHATS that HAS BEEN STUPID!!! NO MORE lesser of two evils, there is no lesser of two evils they ARE the uniparty!!
I made several phone calls to his offices today. My messages didn’t even mention the stimulus checks. I gave them a piece of my mind about voter integrity and what cowards Republicans are for allowing the voter fraud.
Hope he can't sleep at night.
“He absolutely knows that none of this will pass. He is sickening.”
I’m sure he thinks this was a shrewd maneuver, it addresses the conditional bullet points from Trump and it ensures NONE of it will be done.
In the last two weeks, we have had five or six persons a week come to our house and inquire about my Step-Son’s voting status. He moved out shortly after his mom (my wife) died. He lives in another state and will not vote this election cycle, or so I thought.
It turns out that the democrats can reactivate an inactive voter by submitting information via the internet. It is not hard to do and I could have easily done it myself but did not!
The democrats are hustling for every vote but the republicans do not do a damn thing. So typical.
Yeah, not holding my breath but...
The Dems have to say , just in a cloture vote- which many won’t understand the meaning of and the media won’t explain, that they would rather protect the Party’s tech donors and crooked elections than give an extra 1400 bucks to their voters.
Think this is the best Mitch could do.
Take pictures of them, and if you can get them to show their id, take a pic of that too.
