Yes, this is exactly what Trump asked for, and maybe it is a good sign, but we are so used to being screwed it is pretty much expected.

You are quite correct. What, exactly, is the damn point of this? Reconciliation is impossible and the Rats would dig in and never relent. McConnell is placating Trump supporters before the final shiv is shoved home. He’ll be OK as minority leader of a Rat senate, but the rest of us are screwed.
