The mutation impacts transmission of the virus, not the immune system’s response to it. In other words, it will spread more readily between persons, but the same immune response kills it. The vaccine works by preparing that immune response so that instead of being a week behind when infection happens, the body can immediately overwhelm the invader with a specifically formulated response.
In other words, the vaccine still works.

What they don’t tell you is how an mrna comes up with additional nucleotides requred to produce the protein. Where do thise come from.
