LOL! Hubby started to do that years ago with our shower head. He says it is an easy fix, really, and I like having a better water flow when I shower and wash my hair.
Or washing machines! They barely use any water and burn electricity for hours on end these days. Takes forever. Old school agitator done in 20 minutes.
Yep, after replacing 3 heat pumps we went to gas (propane.) Much, much better.
They do run 3 times as long, but they use less than 1/4 the energy while running. The wash motor on the old Maytag used 11-12 amps while running for that 35-40 minutes, and then the heating element (another 10 amps) came on to dry the dishes. My new machine wash motor uses less than 2 amps, and the heating element only comes on if the water is too cool, and in the final rinse to ensure the dishes will dry with the fan and residual heat.
It does use less power, but at the expense of time, which is why most have a delay option so you can run the thing after going to bed. The same goes for my new washing machine. Much easier on the clothing, little water soap and softener use, but forever in the time invested.
I pretty much gave up on the dishwasher that was built-in with our new house, and just wash them by hand.
Recent Amazon reviewers say the quality of the older version is gone.
"Dishes are done, Man!"
They’ve even made water saver washers that don’t fill as full, but the idiots who enact these mind numbing dumb regulations don’t stop to realize that people will do smaller loads of laundry more often.
Doesn’t save a thing.
Heat pumps don’t pump heat.
That’s a shame because the one I have has a super-smooth action and is completely bulletproof.
Same here.
We run it on occasion but generally hand wash the dishes these days. Not much of a problem with the two of us.
And we do use much more water hand washing, but we don’t have a water shortage issue where we live. We don’t need water saving anything.
“I had a heat pump house in the 80s.
Expensive, unreliable, and COLD in the winter.
Probably OK if you’re in the South or Southwest.”
If you were in Indiana back then, then it would only work decently in the spring and fall. They’re basically useless below 32 degrees and really need an outside temperature of 50 degrees to work well. But they are good in the non-cold climates.
We are still suffering form the toilets that use less water and takes 4 flushes to get rid of a normal movement, easier to sh## in the street
Same here LOL Only takes from 20 minutes to half hour of washing dishes and pans and let them dry for an hour on rack and WALLA...all finish. Much easier I used to have a dishwasher but found it more quick and easier to have one without. For large groups....paper plates and forks =)

Yep - I was going to order one until I read the reviews. Those who had the older one but who ordered the new version (as a gift or because their old one was rusty) felt the same as you about the original.
Break their legs...
That will slow them down a bit.
Thanks. Been getting 4.5# boxes at Home Depot...but I shouldn’t have to. I hear the commercial version of Cascade still has phosphates but the HD box of TSP has been cheaper.
Sierra Club needs to get out of my shower!
But did they say, electricity leads to pollution?
that’s a first baby step for NRDC etal to admit. Now can we get them to admit that the process of producing and transmitting electricity is also polluting? And so is the construction of any facility that provides access to electricity? But that it is mitigated pollution necessary to sustain an economy that feeds and defends the world?
Enviroweenies worth their salt should immediately turn in the apples and ipads and gaming computers and electric cars as devices contributing to excess pollution and go live in the woods, where they can’t burn wood for fuel or heat. Or wash their clothes or bodies without introducing polluting soap and human bacteria onto the bioenvironment. Practice what they preach and leave civilized people alone.
