Since when did all of southern California become the “Los Angeles area”?

Since forever. People from that area consider everything from Thousand Oaks to San Ysidro, LA. It's all concrete, people, buildings, homes and streets from the Mexican border to Santa Monica Mountains...It's one big city, jammed with about 25,000,000 people, with only imaginary lines separating the cities.

Yet it is NOT “Southern California” in spite of the media and Angelenos arrogantly thinking of L.A. as the “core” or “center of it all - which it is not.

The beauty of Southern California is it has no “center”.

Los Angeles county is not part of the Inland Empire (western San Bernardino & Riverside counties) nor is it San Diego county, nor is it Orange County, nor is it the high desert, nor is it the eastern region of San Bernardino & Riverside Counties, nor is it Imeprial County, yet all of those are MOST of Southern California.

No matter how much highways connect them all, each comprises an individuality that is NOT “Los Angeles”.

And to prove my point, take a good look at this advertisement slick. It's not my advertisement btw...lol

Once again, just to penetrate your thick skull...LA has always been associated with S. CA. You're just too ignorant to know it.
