“Cat Scratch Fever” was where he dipped his little toe into the pop-rock genre.

For REAL Ted Nugent, NOTHING beats “Stranglehold,” which is effectively a guitar solo. Those were the days when he would play a jazz guitar in front of 6 x 85 watt Fender Twin Amps with Dual Showman cabinets (2x12” and 2x 15) for a total of 500 watts through 12 x 12” and 12 x 15” speakers. In other words, he was loud back then (and was banned from playing outdoor concerts in Kansas City, MO.)

I saw Blue Oyster Cult in Green Bay around ‘77. A band I had never heard of before opened for them... Cheap Trick.

...what an embarrassment to We The People.

As I recall, those "African garments" were from an African tribe that actually participated and profited from the slave trade, selling OTHER blacks into slavery!

"USA Today rated the claim 'true,' saying that the “kente cloth was historically worn by the Asante people of Ghana, who were involved in the West African slave trade.'"

I loved his time with ‘Damn Yankees.’ I can listen to, ‘High Enough’ all day long and I will NEVER tire of that song. ;)

And what makes you think blax constitute his core audience? Nugent is a talented guitarist. I first heard him with Amboy Dukes when they opened for Steppenwolf back in the 60s.

There were no pimps on stage giving soliloquies about life in the ghetto or drive by shootings.

His core audience. You're a funny guy.

“His politics are OK, but his music ... meh”

I agree. When I saw him in early 1970s he billed himself as the “world’s greatest guitarist”. LOL.

I must be older - It was Ted Nugent and The Amboy Dukes in concert doing songs like Great White Buffalo and Call of the Wild.

But my favorite song by the Nuge was Stranglehold

Cheap Trick fronted so many so the big ticket acts, when they eventually climbed up to “stardom” the front bands had to be really hot to warrant buying tickets.

Must have seen them 4-5 times as a front-band

“Went to many many rock shows in the 80s...Ted Nugent was THE loudest hands down....it was actually painful. No wonder he’s half deaf. Still a good show though.”

Nugent put on a great show. For loudest show, Probably “The Who”. I saw Led Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden for the Physical Graffiti tour. That was loud and I was sitting in the last row of the garden facing the stage.
