Id there a path to citizenship from shooting at a countries soldiers and being a POW?
There were a whole bunch in Wisconsins camps that decided to stay. The camps were vaguely like Hogans Heros but the roles were reversed and the prisoners didnt sneak out they just checked out and promised to come back.
If one was an unreformed and unrepentant nazi rocket scientist or intelligence agent after the war you could get lucrative careers in the U.S.helping create NASA and the CIA respectively, and in the latter, fascism could survive and become part of the organization's culture and mission.
