I’m not worried about millionaires that become congressmen. I’m worried about congressmen that become millionaires. Term limits is the only answer. But they’ll never vote to impose it on themselves.

I agree totally with you. The lack of term limits constraints in the Constitution is a huge error, IMHO and I wonder why this was not included.

Trump should automatically be given these next 4 years for all he had to endure with the Dems and media for past 4!

Because it is NOT an answer.

You might as well use a lottery to pick your leadership.

Term limits are in place in many areas. You can already see the effects. People cheat. They cycle through other positions and return. The criminal antics are accelerated to meet the shorter time constraints.

Some really good leaders should have been kept longer than allowed.

The answer is to LIMIT THEIR POWER to act criminally. That WAS in the Constitution.

Who would want the job if they had to do real work and could not enrich themselves?

“You might as well use a lottery to pick your leadership.”

We could do worse. We have done worse. Someone (Buckley maybe?) said you’d get better leaders if you picked names from a telephone book.

>> A Complacent Country?

The Rats have been rehearsing their discontent for decades. Only until recently have the “rest of us” actively participated — but only because we have a 2nd charismatic leader in our lifetime. As a political party, we’re indeed clueless. As activists, we are complacent, and yes, we suck.

Those 80 million Trump supporters — they’re not us. They’re newbies driven independently of our machinations.

We’re sorely dysfunctional. It’s not about Q nor the ultimatum of doxxing and civil war — two extremes that aren’t relevant right now — a waste of time notwithstanding preparation. Indeed... preparation is wise.

Sure, we’ve made bad investments in Representation, but likewise, we’re not financially crushing the adversary between election cycles.

You know my tired rant. But it’s just an example of the big picture — the Constitutionally-sound actions, just to be clear.

Not before long, the Newbies’ energy will turn to despair — and then it’s pretty much over.

What should we do? Know the adversary and control our wallets whenever the determination is made.

I admit, that sounds good, but you know it cannot be true.

Anarchy would be better than Government, if that were the case, and the Founders knew it wasn’t.

I think they expected a better class of people to be in the Limited Government they devised.

“I think they expected a better class of people “

You might be right, but most were trained in the Scriptures. A majority of them were Christians and believed in original sin. It doesn’t make sense that they would expect people to be good as a default.

We sure do have some doozies when it comes to politicians, though.

You cut off my reason as to why.

I think they knew the nature of Man better than most.

They also understood the nature of Cause and Effect. Some, like Franklin, were steeped in the new sciences. When they said, “Well Regulated Militia”, in the 2nd Amendment, they didn’t mean that they planned to write great Regulations.

They proposed Linited Government to keep out the riff-raff. The thieves and scoundrels show up when the Government gets broad enough powers to be used as criminal enterprise.

The way I look at it, those who Can, Do. Those who Cannot, are in Government. If Government is twisted to the ends of crime, it gets the worst of the criminal minds serving in it.
