Hannity would still be a local hack if it weren’t for him filling in for Rush back in the late ‘90s. I think Rush is responsible for Mark Levin’s start, too.

I thought Bongino would be great, judging by the times I’d seen him as panel guests on Fox. Then I saw/heard him for an entire hour, and he was TOO MUCH.

Prager and Rush have been in the same time slot for a number of years...I often switch back and forth between them when commercials come on for one or the other. Totally different styles that are in their own way effective.

Rush is first and foremost a master of broadcasting technique. He understands what it takes to make a show capture and hold your attention. I can think of people who are better versed in history and politics but none that rival his broadcast talent.

Most of his fellow broadcast conservatives haven’t got a clue about that part of their craft, thinking that content is enough. Hannity is probably the most glaring example. That dude is proof that mediocrity is no bar to success.

Rush kept doing what he loves through all the adversity that befell him this year. As a fan he has been part of my family and, though he has never met me, he has made me feel I am part of his. When he continued to provide his broadcasts I realized that he loves his fans as much as we love him. He provided a great life lesson for all of us. Do what you love for as long as you can. That goes for young and old a like. Rush didn't mind making money but he showed us he wasn't just doing his show for money. That the Rush he revealed to us each Monday through Friday, was the true Rush Limbaugh. The beliefs he expressed were not some ruse to garner an audience, they were the shared principles that connected him to his fans.

God Bless you, Rush. May you have the strength in the New Year to accomplish what ever you can in the time you have left to you. If you can continue to broadcast know that we appreciate it.
