Zubiri did not mention a specific brand, but he made the remark after the IATF announced that it preferred vaccines made by Chinese pharmaceuticals Sinovac, Sinopharm, and CanSino because of their “affordability and production capability.”...

Two weeks ago there was a major scandal when senator Lacson complained the health Dept here didn't sign the paperwork so that canceled the delivery of the Pfizer vaccine that Pompeo arranged to send to the Philippines in January.
The second missing fact is that the Chinese drug company involved has been known to give bribes.

About the same time, Duterte threatened to stop the US visiting forces agreement if the US didn't send vaccine. Which is hilarious because he is in trouble because his appointee is the one who didn't get around to do the paper work to get the Pfizer vaccine next month.
