Incoming Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) spoke to Breitbart News Wednesday and made clear she will “carry a firearm each day in D.C.”
Breitbart News reported that Boebert asked Capitol Police about carrying a gun shortly after winning the November 3, 2020, election.
On December 8, 2020, Boebert tweeted, “I’ve always heard to ‘speak softly and carry a big stick.’ I prefer to speak loudly and carry a Glock.”
Breitbart asked Boebert about her intentions upon taking office in January 2021 and she said, “I will carry a firearm each day in D.C.”
“I’ve already gone through the concealed carry firearm courses to obtain a Washington, DC, permit,” Boebert said.
She explained that as a representative, she will not be driven from her residence to the capitol “in an armored vehicle.” Rather, her safety will frequently be in her own hands.
“I am my security,” Boebert observed.
She added, “Washington, DC, like most Democrat-run cities, has a violent crime problem...

there are a number of dems and republicans that carry, and i believe they keep on carrying at the capitol building.

I still remember 1973 when Senator John Stennis Mugged and Shot. He complied with his attackers, and they shot him anyway.
She needs to say loudly that the law, constitution and courts have stated that you can either open carry or concealed carry, and it’s illegal to not allow either option. Not many know this little fact (Except, of course, FReepers).

The political benefit comes from the open carry.
Staying in the closet with concealed carry sends the message you are ashamed of being armed.
That is how we got to where we are.
She needs to start an armed caucus.
She does not need an application.
She is a member of Congress.
She is immune.
That law is clear, in the Constitution, long established.

Criminals want easy targets.
Many Concealed carriers have been attacked and their guns taken when discovered.
It works both ways.
Open carry is much more powerful politically.
It is powerful, symbolic, political speech.

I would argue that every time a democrat opens his or her face hole that it’s treason and a breach of peace, but that’s just me.

It is technically against the law to prohibit a Congresscritter from traveling to/from work. But while walking to lunch on a Sunday not so sure.
