>>> Over bipartisan objections, however, this Act purports to restrict the President’s ability to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, Germany, and South Korea. Not only is this bad policy, but it is unconstitutional. <<<

Amen. Give ‘em hell Mr. President.

However, both the House and Senate adopted the spending legislation with large majorities and could likely obtain the two-thirds majority votes needed to override the president's veto.

Let 'em.

They have to have the bill before they can override a veto. Can you say “pocket veto”?

Isn’t this the bill that nullifies Pres. Trump’s ability to invoke the Insurrection Act? Or was that the Covid bill?

So frustrating trying to keep these things straight.

While it’s possible the House and Senate will be unable to get enough people back to DC to override the veto, Trump could have vetoed on January 2nd, and made it impossible. He could also have done the “pocket veto”, but I suspect Trump prefers an actual veto. But why veto it the first day it’s on his desk? Why make it easier for the House/Senate? Does he want them to override this veto?

If the GOP over rides this veto, then I am officially done with the Republican Party ( I have halfway there as it stands right now).

God bless President Trump. I’d say lumps of coal for the swamp dwellers stockings but coal is way too precious of a substance for those unworthy slithery hacks.
