As part of the $900 billion coronavirus relief package it passed late Monday, Congress is set to allow mixed-status households with undocumented family members to receive stimulus checks that they were denied under the first round of legislation in the spring.
Under the bipartisan agreement, U.S. citizens and green card holders will be able to receive $600 in direct aid, even if they filed a joint tax return with an undocumented spouse, as well as additional $600 checks per dependent child, according to congressional aides and the text of the legislation.
The new compromise would also retroactively make mixed-status families with one Social Security number-holder eligible for the $1,200 per household and $500 per child checks allocated by the CARES Act, which was enacted in late March.
The Migration Policy Institute, a non-partisan think tank, estimates that there are 1.4 million spouses and 3.7 million children in mixed-status families who are U.S. citizens or have legal status.
Some advocates applauded the relief for mixed-status families, but said the eligibility for the stimulus checks was not sufficiently inclusive.
"Given there are 5.5 million immigrants working at the front lines of this crisis as essential workers, Congress should provide protection to all tax filers in the U.S. regardless of immigration status," Kerri Talbot, the director of federal advocacy at the Immigration Hub, a lobbying group, said in a statement.

If Biden takes office, expect things much much worse. The corruption will be off the charts, even more extreme and blatant and there won’t be a damn thing we can do about it.
They should have a roll call vote and be held accountable for this treason. Further, unless all trumps talk about immigration was just talk, he should veto this legislation.

Prowlers at my property. Prowler ON MY ROOF at 10 PM. Gas stolen out of my car fuel tanks-—DRAINED. Couldn’t go to grocery store after dark-—too dangerous. Took large dog with me when I shopped in broad daylight, and that dog would guard my car. NO way to live.

Don’t regret it at all. Entire area is junk where nice single family houses were built in the mid-50’s. I was advised to NEVER go back & look at my house I owned for 29 years. I took that advice. Stories I have heard confirm that decision.
Paying these illegals $600 for every family member is downright stupid & it should be illegal, if it isn’t already.
IF they are using a social Security number-—it has to be fraudulent use.
SS numbers are issued in the USA when a baby is born——been that was for MANY years.
If you were born elsewhere & are here illegally-—you should NOT have a legal SS number.
