In the first stimulus package the direct payments to American taxpayers amounted to $0.20 while congress was paid over $450 per day.

In the new package provides $284B for Payroll protection, approximately $100M for direct payments ($600 per taxpayer + $1800 for illegals), and an allocation for unemployment (still looking for total). It still amounts to less than 50% of the total spending. The remainder is going to pork bellies. This bill should be VETOED.

For clarity, the first stimulus package offered $1200. When averaged over the number of days between the first stimulus and this new one, the average taxpayer was provided $0.20 per day. Compare that to the average paycheck for a congressperson which is roughly $450.00 per day.
