Maybe they should build more coal fired electrical plants all over the country.

To make electric cars viable for the masses it's going to require two things: A breakthrough in battery technology, and a bunch of nuclear power plants to cleanly generate the electricity. Generating the electricity with coal or natural gas just shifts the location of the pollution. Hydroelectric is tapped out, we've dammed up every river we can for power. Solar and wind are niches that make the environmental nuts tingle but don't help much.
We currently don't have the battery technology, and the environmental nuts won't let us build more nuke plants which is stupid because they're the only viable source of clean power we have. Somebody that really cared about the environment would be pushing for more nuclear.

I like the hybrid cars and those are the reasonable compromises between the environmental nuts and everybody else.

Cars have been engineered to be almost pollution free. New cars, in fact, actually pull carbon from the air and captures it with its filter system.

Natural gas puts out 55% less carbon dioxide per unit of energy than coal or oil does.
40% of electricity is from renewables, nuclear, etc, and that is increasing at a rate of 3% per year.
Electric cars can charge at earlier in the day than peak energy usage, meaning they don’t even create a need for increased generating capacity; There’s just as much sunlight at 9AM when A/C needs are minimal as there is at 3PM wehn A/C needs peak.
There’s enough lithium for 400 billion cars with current technology levels, and it is not consumed by battery usage: when your battery needs replacement, the lithium can be recycled, if the scarcity of lithium is ever great enough to make recyclable profitable.
New Mexico alone could generate the solar power to power the entire Earth, and the efficiency of gathering that solar power is likely to grow at a faster rate than the global economy for many decades.

We don’t have enough coal and oil and natutal gas to make all the electricty to make all cars electric.

Can’t we just put windmills on the cars. That way, the faster they drive, the more electricity they produce. Same for solar. Put a bright light on the solar panels for night time operation. The plan has already been approved by AOC.

The worst part of this is that those of us that are too smart to choose EV's, while there still is a freedom to choose, will receive larger and larger electricity bills because the demand will soar while supply declines!!!
Keep pingin me to all this electric car nonsense. Lyft is bragging about forcing all their drivers to switch to EV in the next few years. Sometimes I think some Americans are getting infected with the virus that makes them terminally stupid!!!
