California exhibits the largest gap between mid-level and upper-level wages in the nation. California’s level of inequality is greater than that of Mexico, and closer to that of Central American countries like Guatemala and Honduras than to what is common in “progressive” developed countries like Canada and Norway.

Progressive policies, as applied here in California, have driven this widening gap. The coalition that rules the state—tech oligarchs, public employees, and green non-profits—have backed a draconian tax and regulatory environment that has reduced construction jobs and allowed manufacturing to stagnate, while policymakers have targeted the heavily unionized oil industry for extinction. Even without adjusting for costs, notes the New York Times, no California metro ranks in the U.S. top ten in terms of well-paying blue-collar jobs. But four—Ventura, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Diego—place among the bottom ten.

Rather than creating a more egalitarian and opportunity-rich environment, the new progressive reality promotes a society of feudal hierarchies with little opportunity for most. Since 2010, 80% of all jobs created in the state, calculates Chapman University’s Marshall Toplansky, have paid under the median income. Half of those fell under $40,000, a poverty wage in a high-cost state. This proportion of lower-wage jobs is higher than that of most of the state’s competitors. Might be "peak progressive," but it's not "peak" for the beast that's using progessivism as a Trojan Horse.

Today in Los Angeles, violent crime is spiking, and less than half of residents now hold jobs.

Let us not forget that there are also 1-5 Million Illegal Aliens in Los Angeles County alone and Reports are that 40% of the people in Los Angeles County work off the books and get paid in cash under the table. It's like driving in the 70's all over again, most freeways are wide open 75-85 all day.

Many tech industries need far less employees than traditional industries. Less mid-level employees. Leading to less middle class because benefit mostly goes to a small numbers of tech elite.

Oh, I don't think they are just getting started in laying the groundwork. As you say, they been working on that for quite a while now.

But this fraudulent election is the crescendo of all their work.

If Biden moves into the Oval Office, China will act to consolidate its position while the iron is hot.

Clever as they are, they will understand that they will need to move in quickly before a counter-coup can be mounted by opposing forces (loyal patriots).

That said, I haven't the slightest idea what actions they will take to consolidate their grip.

Socialistic policies always lead to income inequality. The middle class gets destroyed, the oligarchs are protected, the poor have to live on handouts.
California actually contains some of the poorest areas in US. I believe Imperial County is the worst. At least it was last I have checked.
