Pelosi as temporary President for a week might be fatal or there might not be enough time for her to get her coup state in place.
She gets there only because Jan 20 comes and goes and neither Biden nor Trump are sworn in.
What drives the time in this scenario where she’s allowed to act as executive is how fast the 12th Amendment process plays out in the House of Representatives. This process shouldn’t take more than two days.
The 12th Amendment process in turn is driven by how fast SCOTUS moves to rule on Powell’s and other’s lawsuits.
Say Powell files her reply on Friday Jan 15, one day later and SCOTUS rules Monday Jan 18, two days before Jan 20. It’s possible the House could vote the afternoon or evening of Jan 18 or Tuesday Jan 19 in order for Trump to be sworn in Jan 20.
Likely Pelosi is going to delay whenever, wherever she can.

It’s like FDR telling the American people since 1938 that the Japanese are going to attack Pearl Harbor on the 7th of December, 1941 and yet no one makes the effort to figure out how they were going to attack the base and with what strength.

You scenario falls apart because Biden has 306 electoral votes, more than enough to win. Legislatures in the questionable states are not going to seat alternate slates of electors. The Electoral College has already met. The 12th Amendment doesn’t enter into it.
No, it doesn’t fall apart. GA, WI, AZ have 37 EC votes which takes Biden to 269. Add PA, MI, NV and others and he’s far below 269.
Now it doesn’t mean the decertified votes immediately go to Trump. But it does mean Biden is under 270.
If Trump’s alternate slate of Electors are counted Jan 6 in Congress (not going to happen IMO) or state legislatures certify his slate after seeing the massive fraud (voters can make them feel the heat), then Trump wins. But I don’t see this happening because the calendar pushes the process in other directions.
No matter how it plays out, it’s difficult.
My best guess is neither candidate garners 270 (after Biden’s Electors are tossed by state legislators or SCOTUS). Then it proceeds under Amendment 12.
But Democrats and fake Republicans, anyone on the take, implicated with election rigging, all are willing to break the law or fail to enforce it.
So we will not see an orderly process.
They will provoke and prod Trump into invoking the Insurrection Act so they can call him Hitler.
My thoughts are to activate the Emergency Broadband System, squelch news propaganda, announce an orderly process leading to resolution, persuade Americans the outcome will be a fair counting of legal votes and a mandatory debate on how American elections are run in the future.
Democrats can whine, threaten, call people names, but they are going to come to the table and discuss election reform. The debate on such reform will be broadcast publicly. Everyone will see what’s going on.
No one will like it, but it leads to resolution.
Bottom line:
Amendment 12, Trump sworn in.
Insurrection Act.
Mandatory Election Reform.
