I wondered if we were in for a repeat of the Spanish Flu pattern.
Virus sweeps in, taking out the weak, elderly, and/or vulnerable.
Virus mutates and sweeps back through, taking out the young and strong.
Virus mutates again, but weakens this time, and after a few more waves burns itself out.
History buffs, am I remembering that right?
Spanish Flu is H1N1. It’s in every flu shot given every year. Part of the mixture.
There is no presumption that it can’t still kill if antibodies forget about it, so the flu shots keep reminding them.
Spanish flu took out the young and strong first.
The young and strong were taken out because they have good immunity and therefore are more likely to die from a cytokine storm.
